Kline RS5 V6 Rear Section with 100Cell Cat Pipes Exhaust

The RS5 with a 2.9 litre V6 biturbo engine, producing 444hp is a beautiful example of modern engineering. As with all turbo induction engines, the potential to improve the sound, and power response through exhaust tuning is substantial!

The Sound

Replacement of the stock 600cpsi catalysts, with either high flow HJS cores, or de-cat pipes, opens up the sound significantly, as well as drastically improving turbo spool for increased power, and reduced spool time. This coupled with the twin 70mm dual oversized down pipes, and 89mm oversized center section, as well as flow optimized pipe free of compressions, allows the engine to reach its full potential. An additional laser cut aluminium cross member is included with the exhaust, to allow for the oversized center pipe.

The rear silencer section, working with the cars stock electronic actuated valve system, becomes completely freeflow on valve open, bypassing the silencer for optimum performance, and aggressive sound. under valve closure, exhaust gases are diverted through a series of chambers and acoustic filled section, tuned towards low rpm torque, and a very quiet volume at cruising speeds.

The rear section is finished off with a set of quad carbon fiber tails, manufactured in house from pre-preg F1 grade carbon fiber, with inlaid branding.

The Specifics

Downpipes 70mmOD dual, and single 89mm center pipe.
Rear section, 70mm dual pipe, and quad 63mm, chosen for a balance of fast turbo spool, torque, and peak power.

Inconel

Inconel 625, as used in the aerospace industry where extremely durable and heat withstanding components are required, for example for the exhaust turbine blades in high performance jet engines. Inconel is also used for the manufacture of Formula1 exhausts and has also been used by some manufacturers on hypercar projects such as McLaren P1, Aston Martin 177, where lightness is a factor, and exhaust temperatures regularly exceed 1000°C.
The basic properties of Inconel are characterised by extremely high tensile strength, and extreme thermo chemical stability. Because of the high tensile strength of Inconel (roughly the same strength to weight ratio as titanium), very thin sidewall material can be used while still maintaining structural integrity, resulting in very lightweight components that will not fatigue over time. Using Inconel requires a high skill level and is a very time-consuming process which is all worthwhile for the highest quality exhaust system.
